Holland 3-0 Ukraine

Holland beat Ukraine 3-0 in a friendly last night at the De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam.
There was a Liverpool double amongst the scorer’s with striker Dirk Kuyt and winger Ryan Babel both on the scoresheet.
The other goal came from Ajax starlet Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

Holland coach Marco Van Basten has trimmed his provisional Euro 2008 squad by two players with one more to follow before the May 28th deadline.
Wigan midfielder Denny Landzaat was omitted along with 37 year old FC Twente goalkeeper Sander Boschker.

Pre Euro 2008 friendlies confirmed

Holland have announced they will play 3 friendly matches before Euro 2008.
They kick off their build up with a home match against Ukraine on May 24th before Denmark visit on May 29th. The build up culminates in another home match against John Toshack’s Wales side on June 1st.
None of these sides feature in this summer’s tournament.

Holland squad trimmed again

Marco Van Basten has left out four players from his provisional squad for this summer’s European Championship’s.
The unlucky four are Urby Emanuelson, Kew Jaliens Hedwiges Maduro and Danny Koevermans.
Earning a call up is Sevilla defender Khalid Boulahrouz (pictured).

Van Basten’s successor announced

Feyenoord head coach Bert van Marwijk will lead the Dutch for their World Cup 2010 campaign it has been announced.
He will take on the role as Marco Van Basten’s successor on July 1st 2008.
Bert van Marwijk only took over the Feyenoord job last summer having previously managed the club to Uefa Cup glory in 2002.

Seedorf pulls out of Euro 2008

Clarence Seedorf has sensationally announced he will not be available for selection for the Dutch Squad for this summer’s European Championships in Austria and Switzerland.
Seedorf revealed he called Dutch coach Marco Van Basten with the shock news. He also added that he will not be retiring from international football.
